Bargaining for Next Contract to Begin
Monday, November 2 will mark the first session of bargaining between MCEA and MCPS. Negotiating a new contract is not expected to be an easy task, given the backdrop of a barely recovering economy, a year without COLAs, and a strong demand to address time and workload issues -- which is yet to be fully understood by the MCPS administration.
MCEA members have shown a great deal of reason, having chosen to forgo cost-of-living raises and avoid layoffs for this year. Unfortunately, while pocketbooks are feeling less substantial, so too is planning time to insure quality instruction. Learn more
